Strict hardware compatibility list

Faderr13OS is validated only on the exact combination below. Running on anything outside this list is unsupported.

Component Required hardware
Board Raspberry Pi 4 model B, 4 GB RAM — only. Not Pi 3, not Pi 5, not the 8 GB variant (untested).
microSD Goodram M1AA 32 GB or SanDisk Industrial 32 GB (the cards we ship in the Box).
Power Official Raspberry Pi USB-C PSU (5V 3A). Generic chargers cause under-voltage throttling.
Enclosure FLIRC Raspberry Pi 4 case (passive cooling validated; same as the Box).
Hardware outside this list is at your own risk — support is not provided for non-listed hardware.
Setup

Install in four steps

  1. 01
    Download the image.
    Approximately 6 GB — the link appears on your confirmation page right after payment. If you want to confirm the download is intact, the published SHA-256 is:

  2. 02
    Flash with Balena Etcher or Raspberry Pi Imager.
    Use the downloaded .img file as the source. Flash to your microSD card (32 GB, from the compatibility list). Etcher and Raspberry Pi Imager both handle the decompression automatically.
  3. 03
    First boot — wait for the Wi-Fi AP to appear.
    Insert the microSD, connect Ethernet to your DiGiCo console, and power up. First boot takes approximately 3 minutes and includes two automatic reboots while the filesystem expands. Wait for the faderr13 Wi-Fi network to appear before proceeding. If no faderr13 Wi-Fi after 5 minutes, power-cycle once — this resolves an intermittent first-boot timing issue on some boards.

    Connect and open the admin interface.
    Join Wi-Fi network faderr13 / password byeighty6.
    Open http://10.86.0.1:3000/admin in your browser.
    The activation screen will show your Pi serial — see the Activation section below.
Licensing

Activation

Faderr13OS is licensed per board. On first boot the admin shows your Pi serial — reply to your delivery email with it and you'll receive your activation key within 24 hours (usually much faster). The key is tied to your Pi's serial: re-flashing the same board keeps working, moving to a new board needs a new key (contact us).
